The weather in Santa Clarita in December is usually crisp, but with plenty of warm sun, according to SCV Water officials.

“Now is a great time to do one of two things: set up a plan to maintain your landscape through the winter or make a big change for the new year – like removing your lawn in favor of more colorful and water-efficient alternatives,” stated a news release.

SCV Water has two December gardening classes aimed to help residents optimize their landscape, no matter their goal, including:

How to Remove a Lawn
Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m.

Learn the step-by-step process of how to remove a lawn on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants can discover the best types of plants to replace grass.

Maintain a Sustainable Landscape
Monday, Dec, 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Join SCV Water to learn effective methods to manage and maintain a sustainable landscape. Attendees can find out that sustainable and efficient can still be beautiful.
