Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, honored Kei Kei Lee on Friday at Santa Clarita City Hall for her nonprofit work during Black History Month.
During Black History Month, Lee was honored for her work through her non-profit Coco Moms, which helps mothers educate their children.
“Coco Moms is the black women-led organization here in Santa Clarita,” Lee said. “We support Black moms who have Black children in the area of education and wellness. In order for moms to have happy babies and families they have to themselves be healthy, and that’s one of the reasons we partner with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. We are an ambassador for the Hospital of Henry Mayo Foundation. So we’re just looking to build close families, healthy connections and reach over bridges here in Santa Clarita community.”
At the event, Lee was not only honored for her non-profit Coco Moms by Wilk, but also by Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Congressman Mike Garcia.

“Government can’t do everything,” Wilk said. “That’s why it’s so important to have nonprofits that are more vision-driven and more efficient and have compassion.”
