Six Flags Magic Mountain To Require Reservations In Advance To Attend Park

Officials with Six Flags Magic Mountain have informed their employees that they will require guests to have a reservation in order to get into the park once they reopen to the public.

On Friday, Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Neal Thurman sent a letter to employees in order to give them an update on the status of the park.

“We are working diligently in developing safety procedures to ensure that our guests and Team Members feel confident about returning to the parks,” Thurman wrote.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, which employees hundreds of Santa Clarita residents, has been closed since March 13 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials had hoped to reopen the park by May 15, but the extension of Los Angeles County’s “Safer at Home” order delayed that reopen date.

“While on the surface the news is disappointing, I know our county officials are being very cautious in order to protect the safety and well-being of L.A. area residents,” Thurman wrote. “Despite the setback, our re-opening day will happen.”

While a firm reopening date for the park has not been determined as of Saturday afternoon, Thurman said that officials with Six Flags Magic Mountain are working on developing safety protocols for when it does open back up to the public.

One such protocol, dubbed the Six Flags Reservation System, will require all guests, including season pass holders, park members, group ticket holders, and one-day ticket holders, to have a reservation in order to get into the park.

“While the extra step might seem to be somewhat of a burden to guests, it will be integral to a safe and successful operation in the weeks following our re-opening and until we feel it is appropriate to resume normal operations given state and county guidance,” Thurman wrote.

In addition to this, park officials have been developing a health safety plan that is said to include things such as requiring face masks, temperature checks and constant sanitation, according to the company.

Officials also say that a limit on the number of riders allowed in line for a ride may also be enforced.

“When it is time to reopen our parks and we are once again together, I have no doubt we will return as changed people,” Thurman wrote. “Wiser, stronger, more resilient, and we will have a greater sense of gratitude and purpose.”

Six Flags Magic Mountain To Require Reservations In Advance To Attend Park

  1. Oh really. Well you can count our family out.
Magic Mountain now wants to track and trace us.
I don’t see how an amusement park can operate under these conditions.
I’m sure real estate developers are already eyeing that
Prime real estate. It’s been a nice ride MM, sad that this will just add to our already depressed economy. Thanks leftists! Your communist dreams are coming true. Not enough Americans value freedom. Sad sad day.

  2. Having a reservation system isn’t the park trying to “track or trace” anybody, and its not really that different from how it already works. Six flags is a private playground and you have to buy a ticket to get in. Now they can only honor so many tickets a day, so making reservations, like you would for a restaurant that’s too popular, or anything else, just makes sense.

Personally, I like the idea of a reservation system better than having to brave a line in the morning to let only a limited number in, or having the park be restricted to members only, or some other way of limiting attendance.

  3. Sorry, Mel. But you are WRONG here!!! There is NO real estate developer eye-balling the Six Flags Magic Mountain property. So quit spreading your lies. If you don’t like the park’s temporary safety measures, then stay home!! Trust me, they won’t miss you and your family.

  4. Your outake is ridiculous. Everyone is trying to do their best. You don’t want to go, don’t but plenty of people are going to move forward. This Covid19 crap isn’t going to disappear.

  5. I been trying for months to end my membership but it wouldn’t let me because I don’t remember m email or password when I signed up,you guys are taking money out my account and I only been there twice . I need here! (442)219-1111 ask for Tanya

  6. I’ll probably visit further down the road, not now. And yes, the reservation sucks. Especially since we travel from out of state to visit Magic Mnt. But I do understand the reason. And if people are gonna cry about there safety rules don’t come!

Just be grateful these theme parks are doing there best to open up to everyone.

  7. Welp….if they require masks for the public, we wont be going. Just because some people have to or want to wear them, doesnt mean everyone has too. While my family loves six flags, we wont go. I cant and wont wear a dang mask! Bad choice Six Flags, bad choice!

    • I agree!! The masks do nothing anyway!! Except make costumers grumpy and pissed!! This C-19 Thing has totally been blown out of proportion by the media!! Ya… It’s in issue… but…. knock if off folks!! It’s not as bad as it’s being lead to be….. Let’s get back to life!!! And not be idiots!!!

Besides… it’s inevitable!!! The virus is out!! Your system is either gonna kick its ass… or your gonna sarcoma to it…. it’s no different from the flu…. and we’ve dealt with that for…. well… longer then me….. over 50 years….

  8. Where are our discounts for memberships I am paying for nothing at this time where is my refund.

  9. Im a season pass holder maybe we should address even though the park is closed they are still taking our money. I strongly disagree wipth this. I feel payments should be on hold after all we are not able to enjoy the park so why am I being charged? Makes no sense! Some of us have been without work and still no unemployment going on 8 weeks and paying for six flags in not exactly on top of my priority list but its still taken out of my account thanks six flags!

  10. I want all my money back! You keep deducting from my account while you are closed for business. I’m pretty sure you are in some sort of breach in contract… And if you think you are going to continue taking my money and I’m on a lottery as to whether I may attend…you’re just as nuts as Gavin Newsom!!!

  11. There was to ride the virus out. Some of you guys are right dont want to get tracked. Some of you guys do not want to go when it it crowded. Take advantage of this because it could ease the congestion plus nobody cannot look over your shoulder while in line

  12. Mel…maybe you should go to Wally World insread?
