The Canyon Theatre Guild Opens Prepares To Show Two Comedies

The Canyon Theatre Guild is preparing to end their season with two new comedies beginning this weekend

The Canyon Theatre Guild prepares to end the 2022/2023 season with two new comedies opening Memorial weekend.

“This show has non-stop laughter in a class reunion you will never forget,” said Director Barry Agin.

Jonas Hope Wooten’s Last Round Up of the Guacamole Queen premieres on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Opening night is set to feature a complimentary wine and champagne reception for ticket holders and is scheduled to play every weekend until its closing night on June 24th.

The last round Up of the Guacamole Queens is part of a series, being the third and final installment of the Verdeen Cousins Texas Trilogy.

For the last few years, the Canyon Theatre Guild has produced the first two parts of the trilogy which have been well-received, starting with The Red Velvet Cake Wars followed by Rex’s.

Many of the main characters are set to be reprise their roles in this latest edition of the story, according to officials.

The Verdeen cousins return to Sweetgum, Texas to throw the best high school reunion for their class before the old building is fully torn down.

The women must deal with their ex-husbands, career disappointments and community feuds if they are to have a successful reunion.

Tickets for the general public are now available and performances run until June 24th and are not recommended for young children.
