Valencia Acura is hosting the first public pet adoption event in the area since the onset of the pandemic this weekend, featuring furry faces from the Los Angeles County Castaic Animal Care Center.
Pulling from three various care centers, dozens of animals are expected to be available for adoption on Saturday at Valencia Acura.

“We are excited to have this adoption event at Valencia Acura and hope for a great day of adoption and turn out,” said Marissa Chavez, Volunteer Programs Coordinator for the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control.
Special pricing is expected to be offered during the one-day event:
- Dog Adoption Fees: 5 years and older – $5 plus license fee
- Younger than 5 years old – $30 plus license fee
- Cat Adoption Fees – $5 plus license fee
- Other Animals: Hamster – $5; Guinea Pigs – $10
The event is set to be held on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Valencia Acura dealership at 23955 Creekside Road in Santa Clarita, according to Valencia Acura.
With every animal adopted, bags filled with dog and cat goodies are expected to be provided, according to Valencia Acura.

Last time I went to the Castaic shelter the only dogs they had were pitbulls formerly owned by gang members. Well, I just checked their website (https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/) and they actually have all different kinds of dogs now! They also have six kittens. So, if you can’t make it to the Valencia Acura event, you can just go to the animal shelter directly- they’re out in Castaic.
The Lancaster shelter also has a tremendous selection of pets available.
