The vigil for Conor Keely, a Hart High graduate, will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Summit Park, located at 26125 McBean Pkwy.

Conor was killed while passing a semi-truck on the 138 Monday night. While passing on a narrow, two-lane road, an oncoming car caused him to swerve off the road and down an embankment.

“He was just amazing,” said Wendy Keely, his mother. “He was a natural at everything he did.”

Friends have sent messages to her throughout the day, offering condolences and stories of her son.

“He was nice to everybody,” she said. “I don’t think he had an enemy.”

When Conor was not working at the California Department of Water Resources, he played several instruments, his mother said.

Several Santa Clarita biking groups also offered their condolences, saying they had lost a friend.

“Last night our (mountain bike) family lost an amazing coach, mentor but most of all a wonderful friend,” read one post by the SCV Mountain Bike Team on Facebook. “Rest In Peace, Conor Keely, you are going to be missed so much.”
