The Santa Clarita Senior Center is urgently in need of volunteer Meals on Wheels drivers amid an increase in meal requests.

The Santa Clarita Senior Center, which provides services and organizes events for seniors in the Santa Clarita Valley, is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors.

“Meals on Wheels is a lifeline for our community’s seniors and seeks your support to keep pace with rapid increase in need and ensure no senior goes hungry,” Santa Clarita Senior Center representatives said. “Delivering meals is a deeply fulfilling experience.”

The senior center is looking for volunteers who are at least 21 years old with at least 5 years of driving experience. Ideally, drivers would be willing to volunteer for the long term.

Most drivers make deliveries once a week on weekday mornings. 

Volunteers use the senior center’s vehicles and are set to be trained to deliver meals.

Strict safety protocols are in place at the senior center to combat the spread of COVID-19.
