WiSH Education Foundation Announces SCV Virtual Talent Show Holiday Edition

After the success of the first Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) Virtual Talent Show this summer, the William S. Hart (WiSH) Education Foundation has announced a holiday edition of the event, to be presented by SCVTV.

WiSH’s talent show is scheduled to be held virtually and aired on SCVTV on Dec. 17th and feature thirty-second submissions from individuals, groups, and pets, with prizes awarded to winners in three categories and to the Hart District school with the greatest number of participants.

In order to vote for a submission, WiSH plans to use “vote by donation”, whereby voters choose an amount to donate to support the video of their choice using the submission’s link. Prizes are set to be awarded to submissions with the highest “vote by donation” values.

Submission links will be accessible during the talent show broadcast on the WiSH website, social media and through SCVTV.

Submissions are set to be accepted until Nov. 27 at 5 p.m., with no participation fee required. The three categories for submissions are individuals under 18 years old, individuals over 18 years old, and groups of two or more.

Talent show submissions must be high school age-appropriate, with no foul language. Submissions cannot exceed 30 seconds in length. Each participant can only create two submissions.

Videos taken on phones must be filmed horizontally. Additionally, mobile videos must be uploaded directly to WiSH’s submission page from the phone itself.

Participants are asked to use the highest quality recording achievable and remove ambient sound before recording. Creating test recordings can help with sound and lighting adjustments.

People whose submissions are selected to appear in the show will be notified via email.

Additionally, Macy’s has granted $5,000 to go towards WiSH’s student wellness program. The wellness program has funded wellness centers across the Hart District and quad renovations at Saugus High School.

WiSH is currently providing desks to displaced students. The organization is seeking volunteers to help deliver desks to students in need.

Furthermore, WiSH has been named a 2020 Great Nonprofit by the organization Great Nonprofits.

To become a sponsor, to volunteer, or to ask a question, contact WiSH. For talent show submission information and additional guidelines, visit WiSH’s talent show webpage.
