Additionally, 34 cumulative cases have been confirmed in nearby Acton as well as 15 in Agua Dulce.

Public health officials are not releasing recovery numbers by city, according to the department.

As of Monday, Henry Mayo has conducted 4,316 COVID-19 tests. Of those, 454 have tested positive, and 484 tests are still pending with Henry Mayo, according to Moody.

There are 15 patients in the hospital as of Monday, while 137 patients have been discharged since the hospital’s first case was reported in March, according to the hospital. This is a slight increase since the last reported number of inpatients on Wednesday, July 8, when there were 11 patients in the hospital.

Some local patients are tested multiple times, creating a discrepancy in the numbers, according to hospital officials.

An analysis of available data indicates that as of Sunday, July 9, approximately 50.7 percent of all cumulative cases in and around the Santa Clarita Valley can be attributed to the inmate population at the North County Correctional Facility and the Pitchess Detention Center.

  1. Don’t close your businesses. Don’t give up freedom. Gruesome isn’t walking around SCV and Castaic enforcing anything. Stand up, fight! Fight back! ??

  2. I’m in Castaic and I don’t know anyone with Covid. Everyone at the local grocery store seems fine, including the same staff.

  3. Comments so far sound very naive, with narrow perspective. Just because you haven’t experienced it YET doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Unfortunately, given more time, this disease will touch more and more people. Be grateful that there are people who are trying to slow the spread. I have no idea where this “fight back” mentality comes from.
