An additional COVID-19 death has been confirmed at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Monday, marking the 16th such death at the hospital and at least the 42nd for the Santa Clarita Valley.
Monday’s confirmed death brings the death total for the Santa Clarita Valley to at least 42, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
Due to patient privacy laws, the age and any information regarding underlying health conditions about the patient are unable to be released, according to Patrick Moody, spokesperson for Henry Mayo.
As of Monday, Henry Mayo has conducted 4,793 COVID-19 tests. Of those, 555 have tested positive, and 339 tests are still pending with Henry Mayo, according to Moody.
There are 26 patients in the hospital as of Monday, while 151 patients have been discharged since the hospital’s first case was reported in March, according to Moody.
The reported death is one of 4,104 individuals within Los Angeles County who have died due to COVID-19, according to county health data.

As of Monday, a total of 3,886 cumulative cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Santa Clarita Valley since testing began in March. These include:
- 1,808 in the City of Santa Clarita*
- 62 in the unincorporated areas of Canyon Country
- 1,836 in Castaic*
- 11 in the unincorporated areas of Saugus
- 92 in Stevenson Ranch
- 29 in the unincorporated areas of Valencia
- 37 in the unincorporated areas of Val Verde
- Four in the unincorporated areas of Newhall
- One in the unincorporated areas of Bouquet Canyon
- One in the unincorporated areas of Saugus/Canyon Country
- Two in unincorporated Sand Canyon
*As of Sunday, July 19, officials had recorded 1,318 cumulative cases among prisoners at the North County Correctional Facility, and 493 at the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center. Those cases are counted in both the City of Santa Clarita and Castaic totals.

Where is the death count for suicides, overdoses, health issues gone untreated because of lacking medical care/procedures? Any statistics or graphs showing for comparison?
Child abuse, rape, domestic violence, child molestation is at an all time high. The repercussions of COVID Lockdowns are much worse than most people will ever fathom. Yet, we focus solely on COVID. We won’t be doing mail in voting, it’s not going to happen. Please stop the charades.

Global pandemic look up the definition. Seriously, voting by mail has been used by all US Military, US Congress/Senate, US citizens in every state and even some abroad for years and years. Umm…you raise your concerns only now? The only charade is the circus at the White House and it gets worse every day. FACT
Our family in the middle east is fine. No Covid issues. Why is it in California? Virus is intelligent and only focuses on California and New York. Very interesting. Something isn’t adding up in California.
Coronavirus is real, and it is an unprecedented pandemic, that’s why it is being focused on. It is also contagious.
