Monday it was reported the total confirmed positive cases in Los Angeles County rose from 69 to 94, according to the L.A. County Department of Public Health.
In an effort to encourage social distancing, the County has called for bars, movie theaters, gyms and other large entertainment venues to close during the pandemic, according to Public Health.
Restaurants are also closed for dine-in with take-out still allowed, according to County officials.
“We are also encouraging markets to open different hours for elderly groups,” said Barger. “Check on elderly neighbors, help them download food delivery apps. Keep a distance and recognize they have limited means.”
Dr. Barbara Ferrer, medical director for L.A. County Department of Public Health, says taking precautions is just as important as testing for novel coronavirus, as those who are seriously ill are a higher priority to be tested.
“We still have limited capacity to test,” Ferrer said. “We are testing those seriously ill… Everyone needs to take precautions, no test needed. Some get tested because they had very close contact with confirmed cases. This is why some are tested and some aren’t.”

President Donald Trump and his coronavirus task force announced new federal guidelines and updates regarding COVID-19 at a press conference in Washington.
Public gatherings should be limited to 10 people and human trials have begun in Seattle for a coronavirus vaccine, according to the conference.
If someone in a household tests positive, everyone in the house should self-quarantine, officials said.
Two negative tests results 24 hours apart are required to be released from quarantine, according to Federal public health officials.
Attempts have been made in the last 24 hours to gain outside access to the Health and Human Services servers. Officials would not say who is responsible for the attempts to breach the system, according to the task force.
