How To Show Proof Of COVID-19 Vaccination For L.A. County Theme Parks, Drinking Establishments

COVID-19 vaccine verification is scheduled to take effect in October, requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test result prior to entering all mega-events and drinking facilities across Los Angeles County.

The Los Angeles County Health Officer Order was modified to require either vaccination verification or a negative coronavirus test prior to entering sport and music arenas, theme parks, lounges, nightclubs, bars, wineries and distilleries beginning Oct. 7.

“The requirement for vaccine verification or a negative test within 72 hours prior to attending an outdoor mega-event aligns with the recently announced national strategy and includes venues and events with more than 10,000 attendees that are ticketed or have controlled points of entry to a well-defined area, such as sport and music arenas,” according to L.A. County’s coronavirus newsletter on Monday.

This Health Officer Order modification emulates the similar requirement of vaccination verification or negative test result prior to entry at all indoor events with more than 1,000 participants that has been in place since Aug. 18.

“We in Public Health believe that targeted vaccination mandates are an important strategy for quickly raising vaccination coverage in our county and ending the pandemic,” said Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer last Thursday. “As evidence mounts affirming the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines, vaccination mandates are an increasingly important tool to prevent future COVID surges that cause widespread suffering.”

Enforcing mandates like these, California has shown the lowest coronavirus case rate in the United States and is the only state in the country to make it into the Centers for Diseases and Prevention’s substantial community spread of the coronavirus, according to the CDC.

The rest of the country remains in the high transmission category, as of Tuesday.

The newest Health Officer Order requires vaccination verification for both customers and employees at indoor portions of bars, lounges, nightclubs, breweries, wineries, and distilleries, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health).

Vaccine verification applies within the indoor portions of bars, wineries, breweries, distilleries, nightclubs, and lounges and employee vaccine verification applies to drinking establishments with either no restaurant permit or a low-risk restaurant permit, according to Public Health officials.

The modification requires that both customers and employees must receive at least one dose by Oct. 7 and achieve full vaccination by Nov. 4, according to Public Health.

As these establishments mainly serve adults and require customers to show proof of identification, children under 12 have been exempt from these requirements.

For those expecting to enter select high-risk settings beginning in October, a vaccination record must be provided at the time of entry, including:

  • CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (White Card)
  • World Health Organization (WHO) Vaccine Record Card (Yellow Card)
  • California Immunization Registry (CAIR2) Vaccination Record

The easiest way to provide vaccine verification is to carry the vaccination card issued by the healthcare provider that administered the vaccine, according to L.A. County.

The tangible card as well as a photo of the card as a separate document or a photo of the card stored on an electronic device are expected to be accepted.

For those unsure about carrying a vaccination card, the following electronic records may be accepted:

Several resources for businesses have been created to provide guidance in order to prepare for the new Health Officer Order to go into effect.

Public Health encourages everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated. Anyone 12 and older living or working in L.A. County can get vaccinated against COVID-19. Many vaccination sites across the county, including all the County-run sites, are also offering third doses of vaccine to eligible immunocompromised people. Vaccinations are always free and open to eligible residents and workers regardless of immigration status.

  1. Governmental over reach at its finest ! Going to put many more restaurants out of business ! Our City Government should step up and protect our businesses !!

  2. Does not apply to emmy awards
The elitist progressives don’t abide by LA County mandates.

  3. Spoken like a true ass.

  4. Or S.F Mayor London Breed celebrating without her mask because” I was caught up in the moment”that excuse works every time when it’s convenient.Or just mention the several hundred thousand people who are crossing into the U.S and no vaccine or mask requirements are needed I’m sure Magic Mountain will abide by that.

  5. Just think of the word itself: MANDATE.

    MAN… DATE!

DOES THE LEFT THINK WE’RE DUMB????

Would love to rage together over a nice, candlelit dinner, Art.

  6. Do not comply. My medical records are none of anybody’s business.

  7. Amen jose….. my medical is between me and my doctor.. I am not a number I am a free man… big government can go pound sand.. it’s not about science it’s not about anything but libs in blue states trying to control the people… and turning everyone against each other. The poor little business owner will be belly up with huge bills because some dude chick at health department thinks you need to be Vax and wear a mask… good bye blue laser state hello winner red state here I come…

    • So you support women and their constitutional right to abortion, right. Can we count on your activism as Red states, not Blue states use the government to encroach on our bodies? Talk about government overreach! BTW, I do not agree with anything you wrote because you are an idiot, your ridiculous outrage is misplaced, wrong and just plain asinine.

  8. Why is there such resistance to proving you’ve been vaccinated? This is a contagious disease. We have been vaccinated for other diseases such as measles, rubella, diphtheria, meningitis, polio, etc. There isn’t a wild conspiracy for you to fear. But there is definitely a disease you should fear. It is real!

  9. Ain’t no idiot.. your so called president and so called vp and Newsom are idiots..oh and your Pelosi and Schumer do I need to spell them all out.. your super spreader is at the come on over borders.. we have to mask and they don’t we have to Vax and they dont.. you are killing Americans if you are OK with this… your an idiot for vote for a puppet and an incompetent vp

    • You sound so unpatriotic! Do you fly a huge flag outside or from the back of your truck while talking in such disrespectful terms about our elected Commander in Chief?
I would think that you’d have some respect for the office ,but instead you rant. Ranting is easy, but if a reader is so distracted by your temper, the point you’re trying to make will be lost.

  10. Hey idiot, the correct use is, you’re an idiot. Not your an idiot.
Example: Bobbyg, you’re an idiot. This is correct.
vs Santa Clarita, I present your idiot, Bobbyg. Ironically, this too is correct.
Now do you understand? Nah, forget it, you’re an idiot

  11. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota resulted in a 700% increase in Covid cases. Those attending the rally were from good ol’ USA, not people who crossed over the border illegally.
