Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center At Bella Vida To Hold COVID-19 Vaccination Event

Inspired by the community, Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida (SCV Senior Center) is set to hold a one-day free vaccination clinic in May for local Santa Clarita residents.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., the SCV Senior Center is expected to host a free vaccination clinic for eligible Santa Clarita residents, which includes residents of long-term care facilities, persons 18 years and older (starting April 15, 2021), any person with an underlying condition or disability that puts them at higher risk, and individuals employed in healthcare, emergency services, education and childcare, food and agriculture, maintenance services, and transportation and logistics.

“We are pleased to work with the County of Los Angeles Public Health Department to offer this opportunity at the Senior Center,” said Kevin MacDonald, SCV Senior Center CEO.

This event is provided by Fulgent Genetics in partnership with L.A. County Public Health, providing vaccines and other assistance for the interest and protection of the community.

Individuals that receive the vaccination on Saturday, May 1 are expected to be automatically eligible to receive the second dose of the vaccine on Saturday, May 29. These are planned to be the two dates for vaccination, but to be eligible to receive the second dose on the 29th, residents must have received the first dose on the 1st.

“We wanted to do all we could to support the community through this pandemic. Holding a vaccination clinic is one way we can protect the community the best we can” said Robin Clough, coordinator of volunteers and advocacy for SCV Senior Center, in a phone call with KHTS.

All scheduling and appointments are to be made through Fulgent Genetics, which is set to require a phone number or email address. At the appointment on May 1, remember to bring photo identification and the confirmation number for the appointment.
