Westfield Valencia Town Center Food Court Open For Take-Out

The Westfield Valencia Town Center has opened its food court for pick-up and take-out, while dine-in options remain closed.

Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Health (L.A. Public Health) allowed indoor restaurants located in shopping centers to operate for in-person orders and order pick-up beginning Oct. 23, although customers are not permitted to eat or drink indoors.

“The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health is adopting a staged approach, supported by science and public health expertise, to allow certain retail businesses to safely reopen,” read a statement by L.A. Public Health, addressing restrictions on reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Restaurants with outdoor access are also permitted to offer “outdoor table dining, carry-out services or delivery service in compliance with DPH Protocols for Restaurants,” according to the county’s update on permitted services.

Beginning Oct. 7, L.A. Public Health officials have allowed fully-indoor businesses in shopping centers to reopen at 25 percent maximum capacity or for curbside pick-up, with customers maintaining six feet of physical distance.

Valencia mall officials say that they have taken precautions to ensure the safety of its customers. Employees who have a fever or are exhibiting flu-like symptoms are not allowed to work in the shopping center, and all shoppers and staff are required to wear masks and maintain six feet of physical distance between non-household members.

High-traffic areas are disinfected regularly, and sanitizer stations are provided in those areas. Additionally, reminders of physical distancing and precautions recommended by the CDC are posted throughout the mall, according to information on the mall’s website.

All guests are required to follow the Westfield Valencia Code of Conduct displayed on the center’s website.

“As we navigate through this challenging time as responsibly as we can, we have taken enhanced measures to protect the health and safety of our team, retailers and guests based on guidance from the CDC and other government agencies,” read a statement posted on the mall’s website. “Stay healthy and happy.”
