  1. Lets hear about ! Looks like it was on the right side of town so no rude comments from the peanut gallery. This is the 2nd thing to happen outside of Canyon Country or the “other part of Newhall” in 2 days.

  2. Lori, exactly what is your point? That crime now also happens in nicer areas? Is this the equity that we are striving for with justice reform?

When you punish a behavior less, you get more of that behavior plain and simple. There is evidence everywhere to prove this and that is the point of justice reform, to get more of this ‘equitable’ behavior.

  3. Nothing new at that store. Being and employee there, something criminal goes down every week in that place and it seems to be getting worse. They need security in that place, but because it’s “Stevenson Ranch”, it would look bad. It’s crazy to see how much people get away with in that place.

  4. How do you know it wasn’t a taser? $400 on Amazon and they will ship to CA. Something that looks vaguely like a handgun that you can point at people in the threatening manner? Sounds ideal for armed robbery.
And it’s much more likely they stole liquor and tobacco. A carton is $90, so 17 cartons of cigs would be $1500 right there. They have $300 bottles of liquor in many grocery stores, so $1500 total sounds kind of low.
A non-functional justice system and a disarmed populace. What could go wrong?

  5. Rockin Robby, i don’t know what your rant is all about. My comment is based on the typical BS the Libs have to say anytime something happens in CC or Newhall Some idiot even suggested putting a wall up to block CC from the rest of SCV. My comment had nothing to do with GASCON who is straight POS and I am no sheeple I can assure you. But people get on here and bash other parts of our valley when crime is everywhere. Trust me I am AWAKE !! Not AWOKE !

    • Lori, I don’t always express myself well either, but your first post on this article did come across as liberal BS. It seemed like you were saying “see, there are no good and bad parts of town, unlike what’s being said by you rude people whose opinions I will disparage with the term ‘peanut gallery.'”

I think what you were really saying is “crimes aren’t just happening in CC and Newhall, it’s becoming a serious issue all over.”

  7. Why aren’t any of you big mouth busy bodies complaining about the lack of descriptions, method of escape, items taken etc.. in case anyone hears something around town? Rather than your same ole bull s.. of just bitching about what tool was used as defense? Does it matter? It’s not happening now.. but what is happening now is some bragging and gossiping on the streets. A area in which you may be able to contribute something is the f…ing reporters in this shit hole new what the hell they were doing

  8. $1500 in groceries. Wow! They must have almost filled up a whole shopping cart.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
