2,000 Marijuana Plants, Over A Dozen Firearms Recovered In Acton Drug Bust

Over 2,000 marijuana plants and over a dozen firearms were recovered in an Acton drug bust of an illegal cannabis growing operation on Thursday, officials said.

On Aug. 13, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department–Marijuana Eradication Team along with deputies from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant in the 32700 block of El Sastre Road in Acton regarding an illegal marijuana cultivation operation, according to the department.

During the service of the search warrant, approximately 2,000 marijuana plants were located both inside the location and in an adjacent outdoor greenhouse, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz.

In addition to the plants, detectives recovered several rifles—many of which were assault-style rifles, along with over one dozen handguns and approximately 10,000 rounds of ammunition in various calibers, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Along with these firearms, detectives recovered dozens of high-capacity rifle, pistol and drum style magazines, according to investigators.

Three adults were taken into custody and are facing numerous drug and weapons-related charges.

The operation is under active investigation as of Friday afternoon.

  1. I’m sure it’s just a big misunderstanding. Aren’t weed and guns legal?

  2. Based on the number stated, they are 1994 plants over the legal grow limit.
Glad to see no bear arms were involved this time.

  3. how is this a good thing???? freedom loses again..who on earth was the victim here, other than the citizens arrested? Police was once meant to serve and protect, not to control and dictate and take our property.

  4. What’s the names of the arrestees? Article is missing that information.

  5. I’m sorry but why enforce any marijuana laws if the voters of California have voted to legalize it. I realize there are some technical laws but who cares? As far as the guns go, if they aren’t convicted violent felons or there is Isn’t reason to believe they are going to use them to commit another crime, Why should we care or commit the resources? We have a 2nd amendment and California is constantly trying to infringe in it!

  6. Much ado about nothing….except perhaps a waste of time

  7. I love these comments. Always question the powers that be. If the question go away . Remove the power.
