A Canyon Country man possessing drug paraphernalia and a loaded revolver was arrested during a traffic stop Monday after it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Around 10:30 a.m. Monday, deputies with the Juvenile Intervention Team (J-Team) were driving along the 14 Freeway near Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country when they observed a vehicle with an expired registration, which was being driven by a suspect with an outstanding warrant, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and identified the driver to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to Arriaga.

“During a search of his vehicle, deputies located a loaded operable revolver, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia,” Arriaga said.

Skyler Wall, 23, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Canyon Country man was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.

  1. That’s a 4″ Remington 1858 Black Powder revolver in .44 caliber. I don’t see any caps on the nipples so I think the “loaded weapon” charge will have to be dropped. I’m also curious if the Sheriff’s Dept. has the necessary equipment to unload it.

  2. Most likely an Italian replica civil war era pistol.
Not exactly the weapon of choice for thugs and criminals.
My thought is that the LASD Armorer has already unloaded the removed cylinder for safety reasons. No equipment needed to unload it. Drop it in water, remove nipples, push out cylinder contents with a rod.

  3. Wonder who the career criminal creature stole it from?!

  4. The gun is his dads. Yes he has it loaded and has fired it. The charges regarding the warrant are for 273.5(A), 602.5(b), 148(a)(1), 242-243(e)(1), 166(c)(1), 594(a), 594(a), 422(a), 166(c)(1), 166(c)(1), 136(b)(1).
