9 Arrested After Crime Suppression Operation In Santa Clarita

Nine people were arrested in Santa Clarita after a crime suppression operation this week, officials said Wednesday.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday night, while residents were sleeping, Crime Impact Team (CIT) deputies “hit the streets” of Santa Clarita with members from the COBRA Team, patrol deputies and detectives, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, in a social media post

“The mission was to have a strong law enforcement presence in areas that community members have expressed may need some ‘extra attention.’ We appreciated the feedback and targeted patrol specifically in the directed areas,” Miller said.

By the time the operation ended at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, nine individuals were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriffs’ Station’s jail for booking, according to Miller.

The arrests made in the operation are as follows:

– Christopher Osete, male, age 30, arrested on a $50,000 warrant.

– Ashley Brishele, female, age 20, arrested on a $35,000 warrant.

– Mervin Williams, male, age 47, arrested on a $12,500 warrant and narcotics charges.

– Juan Morales, male, age 37, arrested on a $45,000 warrant.

– Jefferey Baker, male, age 48, arrested on narcotics charges.

– Joel Abarca, male, age 37, arrested on narcotics charges.

– Charles Youngquist, male, age 24, arrested on charges of felon in possession of a firearm.

  1. Did they bring in more personnel to process these anti productive citizens, or like always the second part is an after thought? Professional law enforcement teams must analyze both ends of the crime suppression operation. Yes, LEO’s are important, but you must not forget about your civilian processing staff as well!

    • Hmmmm

      Labeling people is sad.

Nonproductive citizens don’t do community service on their own time and help distribute food to people in need.

Remember the community outreach for mental health in our city and support healing appropriately instead of sounding off without facts. It makes me sad

  2. Who’s the 9th person ? you only list 8

  3. There’s 9…look again…

    • Name I meant . who’s the 9th since he’s wanted

      • … “A male in his 50’s, No personal identifying information has been released as this wanted suspect was being sought in a Los Angeles Police Department burglary case”

This tells me that LASD is not releasing the name because he is a “suspect” in an LAPD case. So we don’t get a name.

  4. Thanks LE!!! We don’t want SCV to become a Garrcity!!! I think our decent city shouldn’t become like the filthy Left coast from Seattle to San Diego!! Our families depend on change to make the decently behaving citizens & families enjoy a wonderful life!!

  5. Why were these juveniles arrested?

  6. Our city is changing by the day . The growth is becoming overwhelming. The politics are changing for the worse which mean more tolerance for crime and vagrancy.
    Don’t believe look at L A.

  7. Great job by the SCV sheriff’s station, keep it up!

  8. Juveniles are arrested because they behave like scumbag adults!! Let’s hope it changes their bad wayward life around!!

  9. A big Thank You to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Department!
