Deputies arrested one individual at a 7-Eleven after he allegedly fled from first responders and threatened a person with a knife in Saugus Wednesday, officials said.
Around 2 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department was at the scene of a medical emergency on the 28000 block of Timothy Drive in Saugus when the patient fled from responding officials, said Joey Napoli, a spokesperson for the department.
“The patient did run from firefighters through backyards,” Napoli said.

Deputies were requested to search for the man, now considered a suspect, and while they were responding, he was reported as a possible burglar with a weapon by residents near Romar Lane and Rodgers Drive, said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“He was running through backyards and confronted one of the neighbors with a knife,” Bauer said.
Deputies had the area of Rodgers Drive, Romar Lane and surrounding streets shut down while they looked for the suspect.
“The suspect somehow got out of the containment,” Bauer said.

Although deputies detained someone, it was not the suspect, and they were later released, Bauer said.
After deputies released the person originally detained, they broke the containment down, according to officials.
However, just after 4 p.m. deputies received reports of the suspect to be near the 7 Eleven on the 27000 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Justin Crawford, 34, a transient, was arrested on felony assault with a deadly weapon charges.
Crawford was initially transported to the hospital for treatment, and then once medically cleared, he was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, with bail set at $31,000, Miller said.
