Attempted Burglary Suspect Arrested After Trying To Break Into Valencia Business

An attempted burglary suspect was taken into custody Monday evening after he allegedly tried breaking into a Valencia business where he was employed.

Around 10:15 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a business on the 28900 block of Avenue Paine in Valencia regarding a burglary alarm call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies detained a male adult pending a burglary investigation after a deputy observed the male forcefully pulling on the door handle of the front door to the business,” Arriaga said.

While speaking with the detained individual, deputies observed signs and symptoms similar to someone under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Arriaga.

“While searching the suspect, deputies located drug paraphernalia,” Arriaga said.

Deputies also learned the suspect was a current employee at the business who did not have authorization to enter the business after hours.

Justin Rojas, 23, from Woodland Hills, was arrested on one felony count of attempted burglary, and misdemeanor charges for being under the influence of a controlled substance and for possession of narcotics paraphernalia, Arriaga added.

Rojas was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $20,250, according to arrest records.

  1. Rojas just threw away a good job and now jail. Maybe he’ll meet some druggie buddies in jail and they can party when they get out in a few hours———

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
