A body found in a gated community in Stevenson Ranch Tuesday has been unofficially identified as an ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather Jr., prompting a homicide investigation, officials said.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 25700 block of Oak Meadow Drive in the gated community of Westridge, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson.

First responders were first called to the scene at about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday for a medical rescue call, according to a LASD Nixle released around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.

“Upon arriving, deputies discovered a woman in her late 30’s unresponsive,” read the statement. ” It was learned the woman was discovered inside a vehicle parked in a driveway of a residence where it is believed she lived.”

The identity of the victim has not been officially released by the LASD, although multiple sources have informed the media of Harris’ passing.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an official statement from the LASD Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The cause of death was unknown as of 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were still on scene as of 7:10 a.m. Wednesday.

  1. Westridge is in the city limits of Valencia/Santa Clarita . It is not part of Stevenson Ranch which is not incorporated and is under LA County. So the body was not found in Stevenson Ranch. Reporters should fact check their own stories. Just a clarification.

  2. Interesting, a MOTHER of 3 with black lipstick and a boyfriend, Whoaaaa, where were her beloved children?! Are the children OK?! Are her husband/boyfriend(s) OK?? Interesting!!

    • Are mothers not allowed to have black lipstick or boyfriends?

      • Of course they’re “allowed”, but, those choices put a person & more importantly, their beloved children in harms way!!

        • So just because a woman wears black lip stick your saying thats put her kids in harms way..and who care what city this horrible thing happened in..come on people a lady is dead and she has 3 children, cant you say something about her and her family instead of worrying about a damn city! May she r.i.p prayers for her children and family

        • Wow! How in the hell does choosing to wear black lipstick or a have a boyfriend mean that she put her kids in harms way??!?! This woman is dead and her kids have no mother and you assume it’s because of the color of her lipstick?!!? You have no idea what happened and you sound like a complete fool!!!

        • Wait, what? You’re kidding, right? Victim shame, much? Ok, ladies, verdict is in – drop your boyfriends. You’re no longer allowed.

          • You women will justify any kind of bad behaviour, should repeal women’s rights because can’t even be honest that this lady probably involved shady behavior looking like that.. what else do you guys justify in your lives? Scared to know don’t answer.

  3. She was on pills my friend use to babysit her kids

  4. It figures all the way around!! Chronic bad lifestyle choices led to this!!

  5. Prayers are out to her family and children. May she Rest In Peace. Prayers also for the evil that comes out of people when tragedy strikes and they are less than kind and considerate.

  6. When I read these comments, I wonder why did I choose to live in Santa Clarita…. SMH

  7. My heart and prayers go out to this woman’s children and her family. Such a tragedy, completely apart from the irrelevant ‘details’ noted above.

  8. RIP Josie, You were a wonderful mom and so glad I met you. You have a big heart ❤️ I lit your candles today. You will be missed. RIP

  9. Except for a few intelligent and compassionate comments, the rest of you are absolute mindless idiots! RIP Josie! Many prayers for you and your family! ??

  10. The most amazing woman . She took time to feed the homeless . She was a advocate for battered woman . She was an amazing mother to her 3 lovely kids . She helped her friends AND family in need . She was a gem ?. Regardless of the outcome we are on this earth to leave a mark on others and she accomplished that . The man above sees our pain and he decides when it our time ! He feels our pain . He came and snatched his angel. He had more work for her to do ? R.I.P JO JO

  11. Wow, out at 10 PM, Tue., a school night—where were her beloved 3 children?! History of alleged “pill use”, hanging out with the likes of Mayweather, wearing black lipstick are all signs of bad behavior/lifestyles that put a person in harms way!! Hopefully the father(s) will step up and care for the poor 3 children!

  12. Amazing/wonderful woman, not lady?!?!—Interesting !
