A reported burglary at the Valencia Ulta Beauty led to a pursuit on the northbound I-5 Freeway on Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a commercial burglary at the Ulta Beauty on the 24200 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.
“They put out a crime broadcast with a vehicle description and license plate,” Miller said.
Initial reports indicate that four suspects allegedly stole an unknown amount of items from the location before fleeing in a vehicle westbound on Magic Mountain Pkwy. towards the I-5 Freeway, according to officials.
“One of our Gorman deputies spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on the 5 Freeway,” Miller said. “They attempted to stop the vehicle.”

However, the vehicle reportedly failed to yield, taking off at speeds “well over 100 miles per hour,” according to Miller.
From there, officers with the California Highway Patrol Fort Tejon Officer took over and engaged in pursuit.
“Sheriff’s initiated a pursuit, and they asked us to take over,” said Officer Brandt with the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center.
The suspected vehicle had not been apprehended as of 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
