Burglary Suspect At Large After Entering House Through Window, Assaulting Wife

A burglary suspect remains at large after he allegedly assaulted his wife and stole her phone Friday afternoon.

Around 2:45 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 27300 block of Manzanita Lane in Canyon Country, regarding a burglary, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“A male wearing black clothing was reported seen entering the residence,” Arriaga said. “Upon investigation, deputies learned during a domestic dispute between the victim and her husband, the suspect entered the residence via an unlocked kitchen window.”

During a verbal argument, deputies learned the suspect pushed the victim, according to Arriaga.

“The suspect then grabbed the victim’s phone,” Arriaga said.

The suspect fled in a gray Toyota Corolla before deputies arrived on-scene.

As of Monday, the burglary suspect remains at large.

“The victim did not sustain injury,” Arriaga said.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
