Canyon Country Probationer Charged With Multiple Felonies After Discharging Firearm

Deputies arrested a Canyon Country man on probation for robbery Saturday after he allegedly discharged a firearm, officials said.

On Saturday around 7 p.m., deputies responded to the 27800 block of Rosamond Drive in Canyon Country, where they made contact with an adult male regarding an alleged negligent discharge of a firearm investigation, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies observed that the adult male appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and he was also found to be on active probation for robbery,” Miller said.

Kyle Reisinger, 26, of Canyon Country, was arrested on multiple felony charges, including felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, possession of a firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance and child endangerment, according to officials.

“If an individual is released from incarceration on probationary terms, it is a freedom that should not be taken for granted, or they will end up right back again in a jail cell,” Miller said.

Reisinger was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where bail was set at $1,385,000, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
