A Canyon Country robbery where an iPhone was reportedly taken is under investigation Thursday afternoon near Jakes Way, officials said.
At about 3:45 p.m., deputies received reports of an alleged theft near Jakes Way and Sandy Drive in Canyon Country, according to Sgt. Jepson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Upon investigation, it was determined that bodily force was used to obtain an iPhone, upgrading the alleged crime to a robbery, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Initial reports indicate that the suspect was last seen traveling southbound on Sierra Highway
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Aero Bureau was called to assist in the search from the air, Sheriff’s officials said.
As of 4:20 p.m. Thursday, the suspect is still at-large, with deputies attempting to ping the location of the stolen iPhone.
