Castaic Man Arrested After Meth, Paraphernalia Found During Parole Compliance Check

A Castaic man was arrested after narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found in his possession during a parole compliance check Wednesday.

Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies conducted a parole compliance check near Parker and The Old Roads in Castaic on a vehicle registered to a man on active parole, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The male was found in possession of methamphetamine,” Arriaga said. “A search of his vehicle resulted in the recovery of contraband similar for use of sales of narcotics, as well as drug paraphernalia.”

A female passenger was cited for possession of the drug paraphernalia, according to Arriaga.

“A parole compliance check was also conducted at the male’s residence on the 31500 block of Ridge Route Road in Castaic in which additional drug paraphernalia was located,” Arriaga said.

Payton Denny, 31, from Castaic was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, according to Arriaga.

Denny was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley station and remains in custody as of Thursday.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
