Concerned Citizens Rescue Dog From Would-Be Thief In Valencia, Suspect Arrested For Robbery

Concerned citizens rescued a dog Friday after a man attempted to take off with the animal after taking it from its owner in Valencia.

On Friday at about 2:30 p.m., deputies responded to a bike path near Valencia Boulevard and Creekside Drive in Valencia regarding a robbery that just occurred, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

It was reported a male riding a bicycle took the informant’s dog from her and attempted to leave, according to Arriaga.

Upon arrival, deputies learned while the victim was walking on the sidewalk of the location with her dog, a male adult was seen riding a bike behind her, according to investigators.

“The victim attempted to move to the side, out of the bicyclist’s way, but he continued to follow behind her,” Arriaga said. “The victim picked up her dog and continued to move out of the bicyclist’s way.”

The suspect then forcefully took the dog out of her arms, pushed the victim away and began aggressively kissing and petting the dog, according to Arriaga.

“The victim began to scream,” Arriaga said. “Two concerned citizens successfully retrieved the dog.”

The suspect left on his bicycle, out of view, according to investigators.

During a search of the area, deputies located a male adult matching the suspect description on a bike path near Mcbean Parkway and Creekside Drive in Valencia, Arriaga added.

The suspect, Marvin Ramirez, 26, of Canyon Country, was arrested and booked for robbery, according to Arriaga.

Ramirez was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

  1. Is Ramirez related to Sexy Vegan?! Was he a Vagrant living under the bridge/River! Was he going under the bridge to do a Sexy Vegan or kill and eat it? Would his roasting fire cause another wildfire fire?!
