A Saugus man was sentenced to over two decades behind bars for sexual crimes against children on Tuesday.

Fred Recalde, 63, of Saugus, was sentenced to state prison on Tuesday on three counts of sexual crimes against children, according to Los Angeles County Court documents.

Initially arrested in November 2018, Recalde was found guilty on three of five counts of child sexual abuse in November 2022 and received his sentencing on Tuesday.

Recalde received eight years in state prison and 15 years to life imprisonment, for a total sentence of at least 23 years, according to court documents.

Although specific details of Recalde’s crimes were unavailable as of Friday, he was convicted on a charge of “oral copulation or penetration with a minor under 10,” according to the California Penal Code.

Recalde reportedly works as a financial advisor, however, an education business, “Student Teacher Online,” is registered to Recalde’s name and address.

He is currently an inmate at Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, and is due back in court on March 17.
