Two Parolees Arrested In Valencia Containment Return To Court

Two parolees from Bakersfield returned to court Monday for their alleged involvement in a brief pursuit that resulted in the pair crashing a vehicle into a tree outside the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall and fleeing from law enforcement.

Ronnie Wiley, 26, and Sidney Walker, 26, were arrested on August 8 after a brief pursuit ended with them crashing their vehicle into a tree outside of the Bank of America off of Valencia Boulevard.

The two reportedly fled from the scene of the crash, prompting a containment to be set up near the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall.

Wiley, who reportedly was the driver of the vehicle, is a twice-convicted felon, and is charged with evading law enforcement, burglary and resisting law enforcement. He was also charged with child endangerment, as a child was reportedly in the vehicle when it crashed, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Walker was charged with burglary and resisting law enforcement, according to officials.

They both pled not guilty to these charges on Aug. 12.

Both remain in custody, with bail for Wiley set at $1.1 million for his new charges, as well as a no-bail parole violation hold. Bail for Walker was set at $155,000.

Wiley and Walker are set to return to court on Aug. 21 for a pretrial hearing.
