Detectives with the Career Offenders, Burglary, Robbery and Assault (COBRA) Unit arrested 23 individuals Tuesday including two minors during a crime suppression operation, officials said.
“After a successful operation Friday night, COBRA hit the streets again last night, going back to areas in the Santa Clarita Valley that gang activity had been reported in or gang members were said to be hanging out at,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies made contact with four of the 23 individuals arrested at a gas station in the 28400 block of Sand Canyon Road, Miller said.
Deputies working the COBRA operation learned the driver, Vanessa Palacios, 25, from Palmdale, was on parole for robbery; Emely Hernandez, 23 from Palmdale one of the passengers was in possession of metal knuckles, a felony; Anthony Palacios, 20, from Palmdale, was arrested for narcotics sales, a felony and Amy Savo was arrested for drinking in public, according to Miller.
Deputies also arrested the following suspects during their operation:
– Male, 27, arrested on felony warrant for weapons charges.
– Female, 26, arrested on felony auto theft charges and probation violation.
– Male, 29, arrested on felony auto theft charges.
– Male, 33, arrested on felony identity theft charges.
– Female, 25, arrested for felony parole violation.
– Female, 22, arrested on felony weapon charges.
– Male, 20, arrested for felony possession of narcotics for sale and for felony transportation of narcotics.
– Male, 17, detained on weapon charges and possession of graffiti tools.
– Male, 13, detained for narcotics charges.
– Male, 37, arrested for narcotics charges.
– Male, 28, arrested for vehicle code violation (unlicensed driver)
– Male, 42, arrested for narcotics paraphernalia
– Male, 39, arrested for drinking in public
– Male, 24, arrested for drinking in public
– Male, 21, arrested for vehicle code violations.
– Male, 23, arrested for a $30K warrant and on unlicensed driver charges.
– Female, 40, arrested for drug paraphernalia.
– Male, 30, arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
– Female, 20, arrested for drinking in public.
– Male, 16, detained for narcotics violations
– Male, 15, detained for narcotics.
– Female, 17, detained for possession of drug paraphernalia.
All of the suspects arrested by COBRA detectives were transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
