Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are investigating reports of gunshots in Canyon Country after receiving “numerous calls” Monday evening.
At around 6:15 p.m. Monday, officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of gunshots near Sierra Highway and Alpine Street in Canyon Country.
“We had numerous callers that called that heard the shots,” said Sergeant Andrade with the station.
First responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were not called to the scene, as no injuries were reported in connection with the shots, according to officials.

While initial reports indicate that two people were detained in relation to the call, Andrade could not confirm whether or not this was the case.
“We have a deputy there,” he said. “It’s still under investigation right now.”
