Deputies Respond To Reported Assault With Deadly Weapon In Canyon Country

Deputies are responding to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at the Mint Mobile Home Park in Canyon Country, according to officials.

Just after 3 p.m. Saturday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 16400 block of Sierra Highway, just south of Vasquez Canyon Road.

“There was a report of some sort of assault,” said Lt. Mohrhoff  with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “They are still investigating it right now.”

Initial reports indicated that a man in his mid-30’s had allegedly assaulted another individual with either a hammer or an ax, but officials were unable to confirm the exact circumstances as of 3:35 p.m, as officials were still investigating.

When deputies arrived on scene, they proceeded to enter the unit where the alleged incident reportedly took place and were still inside and clearing the unit as of 3:35 p.m. Saturday.

Officials were unable to confirm the status of the reported victim, but units with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to treat any injuries sustained.

A helicopter with the Los Angeles County Aero Bureau was requested by officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
