Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are searching for a suspect allegedly wielding a knife following a disturbance call in Newhall, officials said.

Deputies initially received reports of someone wielding a gun at the Newhall Metrolink station at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sergeant Jepson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“When deputies arrived on scene, we found that it was not a gun,” Jepson said. “The suspect had tossed a knife in a bush and ran. Currently we are investigating.”

Deputies were still on scene investigating in Newhall at 4:55 p.m. Saturday.
