Deputy Arrested On Suspicion Of Drunk Driving, Crashing Patrol Vehicle In Stevenson Ranch

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy was arrested this weekend under suspicion of drunkenly crashing his patrol vehicle in Stevenson Ranch and then leaving the scene, leading to a near hour-long search.

LASD Deputy Carlos Lopez, 43, of Stevenson Ranch was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving drunk and crashing his patrol vehicle Friday night.

The Stevenson Ranch crash was first reported around 9:30 p.m. Friday, on Pico Canyon Road and Southern Oaks Drive, according to Sgt. Mangos, with the Sheriff’s Information Bureau (SIB).

About 40 minutes after the crash was reported, around 10:10 p.m. the deputy was found. He was reportedly conscious, but had sustained a minor head injury, according to Deputy Mares with the SIB.

No official information was provided as to where the deputy was found.

Lopez was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital for evaluation, and it was determined he did not sustain any significant injuries in the solo-vehicle crash, according to LASD officials.

“The deputy has been relieved of duty and due to the active investigation, we are unable to comment further,” Deputy Parra with the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

No further information into the investigation was available as of 11 a.m. Monday morning, according to SIB officials.

Lopez was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence and subsequently released on citation.

  1. What a fool !!
To me him leaving behind the department equipment he knew he screwed up and was saying he resigned. We’ll it doesn’t work that way buddy.
. If he had remained on scene & took the lumps like a man he’d be punished with days off & repaying the county … now he’ll probably go to the big house.

  2. I am sure this will disappear from the news. I was on Pico Canyon at the Carl’s Jr. with my daughter and saw all the commotion of sheriff cars coming off the freeway. I just came from Newhall Ranch road where the sheriff had a standoff with a guy driving a stolen truck. Just another Friday night in Santa Clarita.

  3. It’s a shame the extreme stress LE has to put with every day by the Liberal Dregs!! Even if they do their job properly, they’ll be crucified by the Liberal Big Media & scumbag Lawyers/ACLU/BLM, etc.—-no wonder why he was drinking!

    • I spent 31 years in Law enforcement and never did what the off duty deputy is alleged to do. This has nothing to do with media or Liberal folks. This has to do with someone who made a poor choice and got lucky that did not do more harm to themselves or anyone else. Plan and simple, stop making excuses here and calling out anyone else who is arrested as in your past comments.

    • Let’s not forget the MAGA Mob who attacked the DC police on January 6. That wasn’t a liberal mob; it was filled with violent, angry and aggrieved despicable un-Americans who attempted a political coup. How typical and convenient of you to forget that fact. MAGA Republicans have turned their backs on America, democracy, the rule of law and law enforcement.

      • mAlice OFF TOPIC, and Out of its Mind, again.
        Didn’t not need Alcohol.
        But, does need anti-psycho meds.
        Sniff the wind sweet-cheeks.

      • Let’s not forget Katy Hill, her dirty bong, and NAZI rat.
Let’s not forget Hillary and her unsecured server, telling the Secret Service agents protecting her to f**k off, while letting Monica vacuum m n Bill’s hose.

      • Let’s not forget Ted Kennedy crashing and killing his date, and LBJ 🦬💩ing, America about Viet Nam.

      • Alice in Wonderland, Let’s & you not forget, despite Trump Derangement Syndrome, the months of Xiden & Liberal inspired true riots for months of burning, looting & town takeovers around the country that included federal & state buildings, police stations, private homes & businesses, yet you constantly default to the small temporary Jan. 6—-a bit skewed & myopic!
Republicans are much more stable, decent & patriotic than Liberals, just look at the daily facts of deranged behaviors in all cities! Get the big rational/logical picture, if possible!
