A drunk Castaic woman was arrested on a slew of charges after a hit-and-run crash Saturday with her 8-year-old in the car.
Around 6 p.m. Saturday, officers with the California Highway Patrol, (CHP) Newhall Area Office received reports of a traffic collision on Shadow Lake Lane and Ridge Route Road in Castaic, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the office.
The driver drifted and struck a pole,then allegedly fled the scene and went back to her residence, according to officials.
“A witness observed the crash and followed her home while calling 9-1-1,” Greengard said.
CHP arrived and contacted the suspect and noticed she had her 8-year-old still in the vehicle with her, According to Greengard.
The officer observed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and conducted a field sobriety test.
Krystal Nunally, 39, from Castaic was arrested for DUI, hit-and-run and felony child endangerment, Greengard added.
Nunally was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.
