Drunk Woman Arrested After Alcohol, Children Found In Vehicle

A drunk woman was arrested Monday after deputies allegedly found an alcohol bottle on the driver’s seat of her car while her children were passengers.

Around 9 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the 23500 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia for a driving under the influence call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station

“It was reported the driver of a silver Nissan was drunk while driving a vehicle with juvenile passengers,” Arriaga said. “Deputies arrived and observed the vehicle with significant damage and an alcohol bottle on the driver’s seat.”

Deputies contacted the driver and conducted field sobriety tests which determined her to be under the influence of alcohol, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Brittany Player, 36, from Canyon Country, was arrested for felony child endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with an invalid driver’s license, Arriaga added.

“The children’s father took custody of the children,” Arriaga said.

Player was transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody as of Tuesday evening.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
