DUI Charges Make Up Over 40 Percent Of Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests

Over 40 percent of the reported Santa Clarita arrests over the weekend were charges of driving under the influence (DUI).

Over the weekend, 28 arrests were reported by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office, according to weekend arrest logs.

19 of the 28 arrests, 67 percent, were charges related to drugs and alcohol. 12 of the drug/alcohol charges were reported as drivers under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both. Four of those 28 arrests were reported as possession of a controlled substance or narcotics.

Out of the 28 total reported arrests, only six arrested individuals were residents outside of Santa Clarita, a decrease compared to the previous weekend arrests of 17 non-residents.

Not included in that count were three transient individuals, who were charged with possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nine of the weekend arrests were felonies out of 28 total arrests. One of these arrests was an Agua Dulce resident, charged with maintaining a place to sell controlled substances.

  1. All these Trump lovers (suckers) trying to drink it all away! Tell you what—-you all should just get together in one big bunch and do it together Jonestown-style! That way we won’t have to listen to you losers whine and blame everyone else for what’s wrong with our country anymore! Take ownership to it! Get rid of them all in one swoop! That’s the way to do it! Clear the air once and for all! Would be nice, wouldn’t it? Well, I guess I can dream about it!
