  1. There are many great things about this city, but the whole speeding and drunk driving situation is not one of them. Very sad.

  2. I’d like to know which local bar, if any, let her leave drunk.

  3. How can we make sure that young people feel they ALWAYS have another option than driving while partying? My kids both volunteered years for SAFE RIDES and they transported lots of teens home who were too inebriated to drive. That is one option. What about reduced rate UBERs or a parents SAFE RIDES organization? No one should drive while drinking and education about that, and options when drinking are two important factors. This tragedy could lead to change which could save some lives. My heart aches for the family who lost their Mom and wife, but my heart also aches for Alexia and her family–they are losing their daughter to the jail system, and a young person is losing her twenties to jail. So sad. Prayers to all.

  4. She was not a teen, and yes 2 families were devastated, but one will never recover at least she will have a second chance those kids will not see their mother on this earth again

  5. Too bad murder charges cannot be brought, since that is what this is. No excuses for these drunks.

  6. How sad to see this, so much pain for both sides. I know the driver was completely wrong and no excuses.
We can only strive to help one another take responsibility when drinking. We need better bar laws and reminders such as posters in and out of any establishments that sell alcohol.

  7. In a perfect world a drunk would opt to call someone for a ride or maybe not be so irresponsible as to get in that position when your driving yourself in the first place but for now it’s not perfect and no amount of someone else’s well wishes can force a drunk to do the right thing! We all know a person like that so all I can say is I hope the punishments fits the crime and in this girls case that’s huge!

  8. Hope the murder gets a life sentence.
