Felony DUI Suspect Arrested After Injuring Three Individuals In Valencia Crash

A Castaic man was arrested Sunday evening for felony driving under the influence, (DUI) after sending three individuals to the hospital after he allegedly ran a red light and “broadsided” a vehicle.

On Sunday around 9:30 p.m., first responders received reports of a traffic collision on The Old Road near Rye Canyon Road in Valencia, said Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office.

“(The suspect) was driving a 2018 Honda Accord with one passenger,” Greengard said.

The suspect was driving northbound on The Old Road approaching Rye Canyon Road and failed to stop for the red light at the intersection and “broadsided” a 2011 Mini Cooper, according to Greengard.

The drunk driver’s passenger was seriously injured, and both the driver and passenger of the Mini copper suffered moderate injuries as a result of the crash, according to Greengard.

Bryan Galindo, 26, from Castaic, was arrested for felony DUI, due to him injuring others while under the influence, according to Greengard.

Galindo also has a previous conviction for a DUI within the last 10 years, Greengard added.

Galindo was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
