A Florida man was arrested Friday after allegedly being in possession of stolen mail and drug contraband in Santa Clarita.
On Friday, deputies responded to Newhall Ranch Road and Gateway Village in Valencia regarding a 9-1-1 hang-up call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported a female and male were heard arguing on an open 9-1-1 line and hung up,” Arriaga said.
When deputies arrived, they located a parked vehicle with two occupants possibly related to the call, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“While contacting the male adult seated in the driver’s seat, the deputy observed narcotics exposed within reach of the male,” Arriaga said.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located drug paraphernalia and various pieces of mail not named to the driver.
During their investigation, deputies identified some of the drug paraphernalia belonged to the female passenger, according to officials.
“The mail, narcotics and other drug paraphernalia was identified as belonging to the (driver),” Arriaga said.
Yehuda Goldman, 52, from Boca Raton Florida, was arrested for mail theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His passenger, Maria Perez, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail where they were booked, according to arrest records.
