A Santa Clarita man was arrested on forgery charges after he allegedly tried to purchase a motorcycle with counterfeit documents Wednesday.
Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 21600 block of Golden Triangle Road in Canyon Country regarding a forgery call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The suspect attempted to purchase a motorcycle using false information for the loan application,” Arriaga said. “The suspect was detained on scene.”
Deputies located a counterfeit driver’s license and counterfeit social security card during a search of his wallet, according to Arriaga.
Amos Jackson, 31, from Santa Clarita, was arrested for identity theft, forgery and possessing a fraudulent public seal, all felony charges, Arriaga added.
The forgery suspect was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and later released on his own recognizance, Arriaga said.
