Four Arrested During Patrols Around Santa Clarita Shopping Centers As Crowds Gather

Crime Impact Team (CIT) deputies arrested four individuals Tuesday during patrol checks around the Santa Clarita Valley, officials said.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s specialized teams are upping patrol checks of local retail establishments and businesses, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

“Our Crime Impact Team (CIT) deployed teams of deputies on Tuesday afternoon that worked late into the night checking shopping center areas, particularly ones that sell grocery items, to ‘keep the peace,’ ensuring patrons are safe,” Miller said.

Deputies reported back that all of the areas checked were fine.

Shoppers were being respectful to each other, and no issues were reported, Miller said.

“We commend our residents for showing consideration to one another,” Miller said.

Another mission of the CIT team’s operations was to check on closed businesses, according to officials.

Deputies conducted frequent checks to ensure no businesses were being victimized.

“During their shift last night, CIT deputies arrested four during public safety checks,” Miller said.

In a Canyon Country parking lot on Soledad Canyon and Whites Canyon Roads, deputies recognized two wanted robbery suspects, according to officials.

“One suspect was apprehended immediately and the other suspect ran into the wash area,” Miller said.

A containment was set up, and with the help of the Aero Bureau, two patrol deputies found the suspect in the mud, hiding under brush, according to Miller.

Two additional arrests of individuals were made in shopping center parking lots for narcotics during the operation.

“Our specialized teams such as CIT, CPU, SAT, COBRA and the J-Team will continue to adjust and serve the current needs of our community, as an additional resource to our patrol deputies,” Miller added.

Four Arrested During Patrols Around Santa Clarita Shopping Centers As Crowds Gather

  1. That is a very misleading headline. It implies that 4 people were arrested due to crowding at stores. However the article states that people were polite to each other in those crowds.

The four arrests were separate incidents from the crowds.

  2. I see the same flimsy headlines in other cities. The Government is behind it. This is what they do before implamenting martial law.

  3. Disappointed in humanity

Not that my opinion would change the outcome. But if I get asked to show someone my “papers” I’m gonna riot

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work.
