Four Arrested For Grand Theft After Stealing Don Julio Tequila From Canyon Country Costco

Four individuals who allegedly stole Don Julio tequila from the Canyon Country Costco Friday are facing multiple felonies including grand theft while in a state of emergency, officials said.

Vincent Arias, 38, Adam Velasquez, 36, Ashley Cabral,  29 and Cinthia Cervantesrizo, 36, all from Bakersfield were the suspects arrested in connection with a Costco grand theft last Friday, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The four suspects are being charged with felony grand theft, conspiracy, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of meth and narcotics paraphernalia, according to Miller.

“Due to the pandemic they were also arrested on an additional (felony) charge: grand theft while in a state of emergency,” Miller said.

On Friday, at around 3:45 p.m., officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a grand theft at the Costco on the 18600 block of Via Princessa in Canyon Country.

At the time of the incident, it was reported that over $600 of Don Julio tequila was taken.

The suspects later reportedly got into a silver BMW and drove away.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle several minutes later on the southbound 14 Freeway near Golden Valley Road. Units followed them onto the freeway before stopping them near Newhall Avenue, according to officials on scene.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol blocked off southbound traffic on the freeway in the area, and one unit with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Aero Bureau watched overhead as deputies worked to detain the suspects, according to Sergeant Bentley with the California Highway Patrol Newhall Office.

The four suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with Arias’ and Velasquez’s bail set at $50,000, Cabral’s bail at $70,000, and Cervantesrizo’s bail set at $72,250, according to arrest records.

Four Arrested For Grand Theft After Stealing Don Julio Tequila From Canyon Country Costco

  1. Why did Arias, Velazquez, Cabral & Cervantirizo come all the way from Bakersfield to SCV?! Why didn’t they stay there and terrorize Costco, etc.?

  2. There was an article about the LASD freeway team not long ago. The team was broken up because it was deemed racist. Due to the fact the suspects getting arrested were mostly Hispanic. I guess it didn’t matter that most of the arrests were violent criminals with trunk loads of drugs, weapons and cash all coming from the border. The I5 freeway is used to transport all that stuff from the border to northern CA. I remember reading an article how those deputies found a person who was kidnapped being held for ransom during a traffic stop. Typical CA a lawless political correctness sinking ship state.
