After pulling a vehicle over for driving over the speed limit, deputies recovered graffiti and burglary tools, officials said.

On Friday deputies were patrolling the 22900 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Saugus when they observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop to warn/cite the driver for a vehicle code violation, according to Arriaga.

“As deputies contacted the driver, (a) male adult 20 years old, they learned he was in possession of marijuana in the vehicle,” Arriaga said.

Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered the marijuana, as well as contraband consistent for use of causing graffiti and tools for use of burglary.

The suspect, Anthony Sanchez, 20, of Canyon Country, was ultimately booked and arrested for possession of graffiti tools, possession of burglary tools and reasonable cause arrest of felony vandalism.

Sanchez was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on $0 bail.
