A grand theft suspect from Georgia was arrested Monday after attempting to steal a bicycle from a Castaic residence, officials said.
On Monday around 4 p.m., deputies responded to the 28400 block of Chiquito Canyon Road in Castaic regarding a citizen holding a suspect call, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The suspect allegedly went into the victim’s backyard and took an expensive bicycle,” Miller said.
The victim confronted the suspect, and held him in an area and called for deputies, according to Miller.
Thomas Dubose, 25, from Nahunta, Georgia was arrested on a felony charge of grand theft, Miller said.
Dubose was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $20,000, according to arrest records.
