Hart High School Alum, Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer Facing Assault Allegations

Hart High School alum and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is facing sexual assault allegations and a temporary restraining order related to an incident that reportedly occurred in May.

(Ed. Note: Trevor Bauer has been placed on leave by the MLB since the publication of this article. Information has been updated to reflect this.)

The alleged assault by Bauer on a 27-year old San Diego woman occurred May 15, when a reportedly consensual encounter turned for the worse at the Hart High School graduate’s home in Pasadena, according to court documents.

TMZ reported Tuesday that the Pasadena Police Department is looking into the matter and the alleged victim was granted a temporary restraining order earlier in Los Angeles.

The alleged victim’s attorney, Marc Garelick, told TMZ that his client “sought and obtained an order for Protection from the Court against Mr. Trevor Bauer under the Domestic Violence Prevention Act.”

“Our goal is to keep Mr. Bauer from contacting our client in any way possible,” Garelick told TMZ. “We anticipate there will be criminal action against Mr. Bauer, and it is our hope law enforcement will take our client’s allegations and case seriously.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers released a statement on the incident Tuesday during a game against the San Francisco Giants.

“The Dodgers were made aware of the allegations against Trevor Bauer late this afternoon and immediately contacted Major League Baseball, which will be handling this matter. The Dodgers take any allegations of this nature very seriously, but will have no further comment at this time.”

Bauer’s agent, Jon Fetterolf, released a statement Tuesday denying the allegations against his client.

“Mr. Bauer had a brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship initiated by [the woman] beginning in April 2021. We have messages that show [the woman] repeatedly asking for ‘rough’ sexual encounters involving requests to be ‘choked out’ and slapped in the face. In both of their encounters, [the woman] drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer’s residence in Pasadena, Calif. where she went on to dictate what she wanted from him sexually and he did what was asked. Following each of her only two meetings with Mr. Bauer, [the woman] spent the night and left without incident, continuing to message Mr. Bauer with friendly and flirtatious banter. In the days following their second and final encounter, [the woman] shared photos of herself and indicated that she had sought medical care for a concussion. Mr. Bauer responded with concern and confusion, and [the woman] was neither angry nor accusatory,” the statement read.

“Mr. Bauer and [the woman] have not corresponded in over a month and have not seen each other in over six weeks. Her basis for filing a protection order is nonexistent, fraudulent, and deliberately omits key facts, information, and her own relevant communications. Any allegations that the pair’s encounters were not 100 percent consensual are baseless, defamatory, and will be refuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

On Friday, Bauer was put on a seven-day administrative leave by the MLB.

“MLB’s investigation into the allegations made against Trevor Bauer is ongoing. While no determination in the case has been made, we have made the decision to place Mr. Bauer on seven-day administrative leave effective immediately. MLB continues to collect information in our ongoing investigation concurrent with the Pasadena Police Department’s active criminal investigation. We will comment further at an appropriate time,” read a Friday statement from the MLB.

Bauer was scheduled to pitch Sunday against the Washington Nationals despite the ongoing investigations by Major League Baseball and the Pasadena Police Department, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts in a Thursday interview.

In February 2021, Bauer signed a three-year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers, who came into the season with momentum from their 2020 World Series Win.

  1. The fact that he willingly went along with these insane requests with a woman he doesn’t know makes me really question his intelligence. He should know that he’s a target for a lawsuit. Also dude’s got some serious morality missing.
