A Newhall man was arrested on a slew of charges Sunday, including kidnapping, after he allegedly assaulted his spouse.

On Sunday, deputies responded to the 24300 block of Newhall Avenue regarding a domestic violence call for service which led to a kidnapping arrest, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.  

“During investigation, deputies learned during a verbal argument between the victim and her boyfriend, the boyfriend physically assaulted the victim and pulled the victim against her will towards another room,” Arriaga said. 

During the argument, the suspect allegedly continuously instilled fear in the victim, preventing her from calling 911, according to Arriaga.   

“The victim sustained minor injury, however declined medical treatment, Arriaga said.  

Jorge Gonzalez Perdomo, 43, from Newhall, was arrested for spousal assault, kidnapping and dissuading a victim, Arriaga said.  

He was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s station and remains in custody as of Tuesday.
