A Lancaster man was arrested Sunday evening after his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle on the 14 Freeway causing injury to his passenger.
About 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a Harley Davidson was driving on the northbound 14 Freeway near the Jakes Way overpass, when the motorcycle collided with a Hyundai Accent sedan, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson with the Newhall Area Office.
“The rider of the Harley was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and arrested for felony DUI due to the fact Oliver’s passenger was injured during the crash,” Greengard said.
32-year-old Cathell Oliver, of Lancaster, was arrested and transported to Central Jail with $100,000 bail.
The condition of Oliver’s passenger was unknown as of Tuesday.
