A Newhall containment was set up Wednesday afternoon after Los Angeles Police Department officers followed an alleged murder suspect into Santa Clarita, officials said.

UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. — The alleged murder suspect has been taken into custody by law enforcement, according to officers with the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD officers trailed a felony suspect to Market Street and 6th Street in Newhall, leading to a containment, according to Officer Mike Lopez with the department.
“We followed a felony suspect into Santa Clarita’s area,” Lopez said.
Officers from the LAPD confirmed the suspect is wanted for murder, according to a reporter on scene.
LAPD officers attempted to pull the suspect over on the 210 Freeway near Polk Street in the San Fernando Valley, officials on scene confirmed.
The containment blocked off Market Street near the Newhall Metrolink Station, according to witnesses.
A Los Angeles Police Department helicopter assisted with the search from the air, according to officials.
