UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. — The alleged murder suspect has been taken into custody by law enforcement, according to officers with the Los Angeles Police Department.

LAPD officers trailed a felony suspect to Market Street and 6th Street in Newhall, leading to a containment, according to Officer Mike Lopez with the department.

“We followed a felony suspect into Santa Clarita’s area,” Lopez said.

Officers from the LAPD confirmed the suspect is wanted for murder, according to a reporter on scene.

LAPD officers attempted to pull the suspect over on the 210 Freeway near Polk Street in the San Fernando Valley, officials on scene confirmed.

The containment blocked off Market Street near the Newhall Metrolink Station, according to witnesses.

A Los Angeles Police Department helicopter assisted with the search from the air, according to officials.

  5. So many racist and uneducated lower, socioeconomic people in SCV. SCV is the Arkansas of California. Glad I moved to Calabasas where real class resides.Ugggh.

    • John HiggleBOTTOM:(with KY): SCV has & is one of the safest cities in the USA!! Definitely not social economic (poor/lazy/resistant/non-assimilation) creatures that inhabit other cities!! Your precious area of CalabASSESES are full of overpaid movie/film/music sheep that made it extremely big, with little talent, just the Union & sleeping around connections, that decent hardworking Americans don’t depend on to make their lives prosperous !! Real class??!, because you show off diamonds, Mercedes, BMWs, etc., obviously, you’re very shallow!! SCV schools are at the top of proper education, without spending our hard earned taxes on private schools! You and your ilk must have voted for Newsom, Garrcity, Bonin, Prop. 47 & 57 and AB 109!! Your anarchy will not survive!! Please move to Russia!!
