Lululemon Smash And Grab Suspects Lead CHP On High-Speed Pursuit Through Santa Clarita

A Lululemon smash and grab suspect led California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers on a high-speed pursuit Tuesday afternoon, which began in Valencia.

Around 12 p.m. Tuesday, undercover CHP units assigned to the retail task force were monitoring the Lululemon store in Studio City, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“The Lululemon store had a smash and grab theft occur,” Greengard said.

Undercover units followed the suspects and watched them get into a silver VW Jetta, according to Greengard.

“Newhall Units were able to locate the vehicle on the northbound I-5 around Magic Mountain Parkway,” Greengard said. “We attempted to pull the vehicle over and a pursuit was initiated.”

The vehicle briefly yielded, then sped off, hitting speeds of up to 125 mph, according to officials.

As of 12:30 p.m. the pursuit was going into the CHP Fort Tejon Area, according to Greengard.

Lululemon Smash And Grab Suspects Lead CHP On High-Speed Pursuit Through Santa Clarita

  1. This story makes no sense. The task force was monitoring a Lululemon in “Studio City”? Then a smash and grab took place at the Lululemon and the units “watched” the suspects get into their car??? Then they “located” the vehicle on the 5 freeway? So the suspects haven’t been caught after all that monitoring, watching, and locating?

  2. They are saving effort and reducing pursuits. It is just catch and release these days anyway. Next, they will start ignoring dispatch calls, like LAPD.

  3. Can any decent American imagine what LE goes through with what Gas-Con & the Liberals have done to neglecting the law!! All decent humans should be disgusted & outraged & demand/vote change!!

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
